Born in Tokyo in 1985. Spent much of his childhood in Barcelona, Spain.
He made his musical debut in 2003 and has since appeared in musicals, TV dramas, and movies.
He has received a number of awards for his performances in musicals. He appeared in 4 Stars with international musical stars Ramin Karimloo, Sierra Boggess, and Lea Salogna (directed by Daniel Kutner) in 2014, and again with Ramin Karimloo, Sierra Boggess, and Cynthia Erivo (directed by Sarna Lapine) in 2017.
Not limiting himself to acting, Yu also produces movie shorts and made his directing debut with the musical “Apple Tree” in 2016.
In 2018, he released the album “a singer,” featuring songs from musicals in Japanese, English, and Spanish.
